The following is a statement by Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak, MPP on Remembrance Day:

“Remembrance Day marks the solemn occasion when Canadians gather to honour and pay tribute to those who fought for the liberation of millions around the world and died for our freedom.

“On behalf of the Ontario PC Caucus, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of the men and women who have bravely served in the Canadian Armed Forces

“Remembrance Day gives us an opportunity to remember those who have worn our country’s uniform and have given the ultimate sacrifice in defence of Canadian values. Their sacrifice for Canada is something that we must never take for granted. The debt we owe is insurmountable.

“Remembrance Day also allows us to recognize our nation’s proud military history.

“From Vimy to Dieppe, Korea to Bosnia, Rwanda to Kandahar – during the world’s darkest hours – it was Canadians who answered the call.

“On this day we remember their bravery, their determination, and their conviction that has led to our military successes and has afforded us the peace and prosperity we enjoy today.

“Today, Ontarians gather to remember the brave soldiers, sailors, air men and women who gave their lives in service of Canada and our values. We remember their sacrifices and cherish the country they made possible.

“Lest we forget.”
