Ontario PCs: If Wynne Won’t Act Like A Premier, We Won’t Back Down

After the Premier filed a lawsuit against members of the Official Opposition, the Ontario PC Party will fight Premier Kathleen Wynne with every tool at its disposal, Ontario PC MPP Lisa MacLeod said today.

“This suit is a waste of time by a Premier on the defensive, when she should be focused on jobs,” said MacLeod. “If she insists on pursuing this personal grudge in the court of law, we’ll prosecute our case in the court of public opinion. We will not back down.”

McGuinty-Wynne Liberals Continue Hydro Tax Grab

“The Liberal Party of Ontario continues to fuel its overspending and mismanagement by adding fees to hydro bills – that needs to end now,” said Ontario PC Finance Critic Vic Fedeli.

Fedeli and Ontario PC Energy Critic Lisa MacLeod commented on Energy Minister Bob Chiarelli’s announcement that the Liberals will phase out the Debt Retirement Charge (DRC), a fee initially imposed to pay off debts collected by the former Ontario Hydro.

While tradespeople protested against the Ontario College of Trades outside the Legislative Assembly, PC Leader Tim Hudak made his pledge to put an end to the Liberal-created bureaucracy.

Today, Hudak was joined by Ontario PC Training and Apprenticeship Critic Garfield Dunlop, as the two marked the first anniversary of a tax grab by the Liberal College of Trades that it calls ‘membership fees.’

Yet Another Month Of Manufacturing Job Losses Under The Liberals

“If we have learned anything about the McGuinty-Wynne Liberals, it is that they have a proven track record of costing the province our manufacturing jobs,” said Ontario PC MPP Jane McKenna.

McKenna made the comments following the news that Ontario lost 8,000 manufacturing jobs last month. March also marked the 87th consecutive month that Ontario’s unemployment rate was above the national ‎average.
